For most U.S. businesses, no. FinCEN issued a final rule effective August 14, 2026 that permanently exempts companies formed in the United States, and their beneficial owners, from beneficial ownership reporting under the Corporate Transparency Act. It now applies only to entities formed under foreign law that have registered to do business in a U.S. state — and we can help you assess that.
